Disassembled parts shall be identified. The steam table and disassembled parts shall be preserved and cushioned to provide adequate protection against corrosion, deterioration, and damage during shipment and storage. Disassembled and detached parts shall be packaged in a snug-fitting fiberboard box conforming to PPP-B-636.
4.3.2 Export packing. Each steam table shall be packed in a snug-fitting, wood-cleated plywood box conforming to domestic type, style A or B, type 3 load of PPP-B-601. The contents of each box shall be cushioned, blocked, and braced to prevent movement and damage while in transit. Closure and strapping shall be in accordance with PPP-B-601.
4.4 Marking (commercial and export). Interior boxes and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
5. NOTES
5.1 Intended use. The steam tables covered by this commercial item description are intended for use in dining facilities to keep food bot, but are not intended to reheat or cook food.
5.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this commercial item description.
b. PIN designating type, style, and size required (see 1.1, 1.2, and 5.4).
c. Electrical characteristics if other than those specified (see 2.1.3).
d. Government approved manual number to be included on data nameplate (see 2.4).
e. Selection of applicable packaging and packing required.
