4.3.2 Export packing. Each food warmer shall be packed in a snug–fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC, grade V3C, V3S or V4S of PPP–B–636. Each shipping container shall be closed, waterproofed, and reinforced with nonmetallic strapping or pressure–sensitive adhesive filament reinforced tape in accordance with PPP-B-636.
4.4 Palletization. When specified (see 5.2), shipping containers shall be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147.
4.5 Marking (commercial and export). Marking of unit packs, shipping containers and palletized unit loads shall be in accordance with MIL–sTD-129.
5. NOTES
5.1 Intended use. The food warmer is intended for use in military dining facilities to keep cooked food at the proper serving temperature.
5.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this document.
b. Government approved manual number to be included on the data name plate when manuals are purchased under the contract (see 2.9).
c. Type of packaging and packing required (see 4.1).
d. When palletization of shipping containers is required (see 4.4).
5.3 Supersession data. The type II, 220 volt warmer previously covered by this Commercial Item Description is available from Military Specification MIL-F– 43883, Food Warmer, Infra-Red, Electric.
