2.10 Workmanship. The finished food warmers shall be clean and shall not contain any burrs, slivers, breaks, sharp corners, sharp edges, deformities, dents or rough die or grind marks. Welds shall be sound, smooth and free from pits, fractures, burn-through, or fissures. Bolt holes and rivet holes shall be accurately punched or drilled and shall have burrs removed. All bolts, nuts and screws shall be drawn tight. Rivets shall be tightly driven and fully peened. Electrical wiring shall be provided with adequate slack to relieve strain, and the wiring shall not be abraded, poorly joined, or loose at terminals.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE.
3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain objective quality evidence, that the product offered meets this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all examination, and test requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the examination and tests deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
3.3 Examination. The end item shall be examined for the defect listed in table II. The sample size shall be as indicated in table I. The sample unit shall be one food warmer.
