3.4 Testing. One representative production unit shall be functional tested. Connect the food warmer to the power source. Place “ON-OFF” switch in the “ON” position. Check to assure infra-red bulbs or heating elements are operating, and a serving temperature of 140°F in an ambient temperature of 720F is maintained. Failure of the unit to maintain the specified temperature shall constitute rejection of the lot.
3.5 Compliance. Prior to commencing production, the supplier shall submit satisfactory evidence to the contracting officer or his authorized representative that the food warmers he proposes to supply under this specification meet the applicable requirements of UL No. 197 and NSF No. 4 as follows:
3.5.1 UL. Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of UL shall be the UL label, a UL listing mark, or a certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory, acceptable to the Government, indicating that the food warmers have been tested and conform to UL No. 197.
