provided. Each button or digital touchpad shall be capable of being adjusted to not more than 6 seconds for the minimum time setting and not less than 120 seconds for the maximum time setting. Combination dial and pushbutton timers shall conform to the previously mentioned requirements for each except that the pushbutton portion shall consist of not less than five different time selection buttons. The digital touchpad timer shall utilize electronic solid-state components which process user information, entered by means of data entries, to control the, starting, stopping, timing and heat control function of the oven. A lighted digital read-out panel shall display data entries, and countdown time remaining to the end of the cooking cycle.
6. Weight and dimensions. The weight of the microwave oven shall not exceed 220 pounds and external oven dimensions shall not exceed the following:
32 inches wide
28 inches high
28 inches deep
7. Standards compliance. The microwave oven shall conform to the applicable requirements of UL 923, title 21 CFR subchapter J part 1030, NFPA No. 70 and NSF No. 4.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, quality assurance practices, and is the same as the product offered for sale in the commercial market place. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this CID are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-50 to the maximum extent practical.
