2.1.2 Fuel system. The oven shall be designed to burn natural gas. The oven shall be rated at 49,000 BTU/hour minimum. The oven shall be equipped with a gas pressure regulator and gas burner(s) with automatic gas ignition system. The oven burner shall be equipped with a constant burning pilot or electrically ignited pilot or direct spark ignition. An ANSI approved quick disconnect (socket and plug) and a 5-foot minimum flexible metal connector consisting of a male pipe thread fitting on one end and union with female thread on the opposite end shall be supplied with each oven.
2.1.3 Thermostat. The oven shall be equipped with a thermostat to automatically control oven temperature from 200OF to 475OF minimum.
2.1.4 Electrical characteristics. The electrical controls, lights, switches, and blower shall operate on a nominal 120 volt, 60 Hertz, single phase power source. Each oven shall be equipped with a 6-foot minimum UL approved 3-wire power supply cord with NEMA 5-15P plug. The oven blower shall be rated at not more than 3/4 horsepower.
2.2 Type II. The type II oven shall consist of two type I ovens stacked and secured, with each oven compartment operating independently of the other. Type II ovens shall come equipped with only one set of stainless steel legs with leveling devices.
2.3 Standards compliance. The ovens shall comply with American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Z83.12 and the National Sanitation Foundation Standard No.4.
2.4 Data name plate (Government unique requirement (see 5.4)). The oven shall be furnished with a data name plate in accordance with the applicable requirements of MIL–STD-130 except the requirements for; (a) Methods of applying, (b) Identification tags, (c) Information not required and (d) Optional marking information shall not apply. The data name plate shall be made of minimum 20 gauge corrosion-resisting metal and attached to the oven by rivets, screws, or welding in such a manner as to meet the applicable NSF requirements for this equipment. The plate shall contain the following information which shall be stamped, engraved, or applied by photosensitive means:
National Stock Number
Procurement Instrument Identification Number
Specification Data
Manufacturer‘s Name, Address, and Telephone Number
Supplier’s Name, Address, and Telephone Number (List only if different from Manufacturer)
Manufacturer’s Model Number
Government Approved Manual Number (See 5 .2)
Each plate shall be placed so that it is readily visible to the operator during normal operating use-and so as to not adversely affect the life and utility of the oven.
