COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
OVENS, BAKING AND ROASTING, FORCED CONVECTION, GAS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-O-43679, which was cancelled.
1. CLASSIFICATION.
1.1 Classification. This commercial item description covers two types of ovens as follows (see 5.2).
Type I- one oven compartment
Type II- two oven compartment
1.2 CID based part identification number (PIN). A document based PIN to identify types of items is included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Description. The type II oven shall consist of two type I ovens stacked and secured. Each oven compartment shall operate independently. Oven exterior surfaces except the bottom and back shall be stainless steel. The oven compartment and door lining shall be stainless steel. Each oven compartment shall be equipped with removable stainless steel top, right-hand, left-hand, and bottom oven liner panels, five equally spaced shelves supported by removable shelf supports, two-speed oven blower, blower speed selector switch (low and high), flue riser, oven light, oven indicator light, a 5-hour oven timer with alarm, heating units, temperature controls, and burners “ON-OFF” control.
