2.1.3 Type I cabinet. Type I cabinets shall not be greater than 29-1/2 inches wide by 22 inches deep by 23 inches high.
2.1.4 Type II cabinet. Type II cabinets shall not be greater than 30 inches wide by 21 inches deep, excluding bumpers, by 37 inches high. Type II cabinets shall have bumpers on all four sides as well as a bumpered handle welded or bolted to the right side of the unit. Type II cabinets shall be equipped with 5 inch diameter casters. The two casters on the left side shall be rigid and the two casters on the right shall be of the swivel type with locking brakes.
2.2 Codes and standards. The cabinets shall comply with the applicable requirements of UL Standard No. 197 and NSF Standard No. 4.
2.3 Electrical requirements. Unless otherwise specified (see 5.2), cabinets shall be rated for 120 volts, 60 hertz, 1 phase system. The cabinet shall have a 3 to 6 foot long power supply cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug attached to it.
2.4 Thermostat. The thermostat control shall have an integral “ON-OFF” switch. The “OFF” position and dial settings shall be clearly marked on the control.
2.5 Data name plate (Government unique requirement see 5.4). The cabinets shall be furnished with a data name plate in accordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-STD-130 except the requirements for: (a) Methods of applying; (b) Identification tags; (c) Information not required and (d) Optional marking information shall not apply. The data plate shall be made of minimum 20 gauge corrosion-resisting metal and attached to the cabinet by rivets, screws or welding in such a manner as to meet the applicable National Sanitation Foundation sanitary requirements for this equipment. The plate shall contain the following information which shall be stamped, engraved or applied by photosensitive means:
National Stock Number
Procurement Contract Number
Specification Data
Manufacturer‘s Name, Address and Telephone Number
Supplier’s Name, Address and Telephone Number (List only if different from
Manufacturer)
Manufacturer‘s Model Number
Government Approved Manual Number (when specified, see 5.2)
Each plate shall be placed so that it is readily visible to the operator during normal operating use and so as to not adversely affect the life and utility of the food warming cabinet.
