COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, CARBONATED BEVERAGE, MECHANICALLY REFRIGERATED; COUNTERTOP DISPENSING, REMOTE SYSTEM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to MIL-D-43913 for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers mechanically refrigerated post-mix, pressure type carbonated (soft drink) beverage dispensers, with remote countertop dispensing units.
1.2 Classification. The beverage dispensers shall be of the following sizes, as specified (see 5.2):
Size 1 - 300 six-ounce drinks per hour capacity
Size 2 - 480 six-ounce drinks per hour capacity
Size 3 - 900 six-ounce drinks per hour capacity
1.3 CID based Dart identification number (PIN). A document based PIN to identify size of items is included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor except as information on “Government unique” data nameplates (see 5.3).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The dispenser shall be a mechanically refrigerated, post-mix, pressure flow type, consisting of a floor mounted refrigeration unit, counter mounted dispensing heads, and insulated conduit for remote dispensing head installation. Unless otherwise specified (see 5.2), the finish and material shall be the manufacturer standard design.
